Our Takeaways From Our First Month On Social Media

Thank You

Our First month of social media was fairly eventful. It was heavily instagram Focused. It was amazing to see the overwhelmingly positive reaction to us launching. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that followed, interacted, and supported our posts. It has ultimately reassured us that we are in the right place & doing something that is necessary.

We have had many positive conversations with people that have shared their experiences with mental health and how they’ve been going through something similar. This is one of the main reasons that we are doing this, we are interested in gaining a better understanding of how mental health affects us as well as others. We also want to be an outlet for people that need someone to talk to, that is what we are eventually aiming to do with our discord group. We want it to be a community of people exchanging ideas, sharing coping techniques, resources, hobbies, investments.

What Are We Trying To Do?

I would like to take a minute to remind everyone of what our goals are.

“We wanted to create a platform that educates, entertains and inspires anyone affected by mental illness. This includes everyone from family members, to friends, to educators, coworkers, and most importantly the person experiencing the mental illness themselves. “

Just seeing the positive reaction to some of the Instagram reels, posts, podcasts & videos that we shared, we feel that we are on the right track. Our instagram has been an excellent outlet for all aspects of what we are trying to achieve. We are going to extend our presence to some of our other channels over the next few weeks. The end goal is to create a mix of entertaining, inspiring, and insightful content for you guys.

Through all of our content, we are looking to “destigmatize the stigmatized” and normalize how people with mental illness are viewed in society.

Future plans

We have a lot of things planned for the future, including onboarding some of our eventual community members as contributors to the 21Schizm Website for future articles/stories. It would be nice if the two of us could do it alone, but that is obviously not realistic. There are way more writers out there with far more captivating stories focused on mental health than our own and the world deserves to hear from them.

Along this journey we want to remind everyone that a diagnosis does not equal a death sentence. Moreover, we intend to encourage you to think outside the box for yourself, your family member or friend and embrace your talents, strengths and weaknesses to cope and trailblaze alternative paths towards success and fulfillment.  Use our story as your example and inspiration to create something amazing!
